Hailing from beautiful Scotland - with Spanish, English and German heritage - songwriter Herica is making her mark in Dark Chamber Pop. With her powerful, melancholy lyrics and orchestral instrumentation, her sound has been likened to Florence And The Machine, and she has been described as ‘a modern Kate Bush’. Herica’s music combines elements of Chamber Pop - piano, strings, horns - with powerful, emotive lyrics and ethereal vocals. She creates beauty from darkness, expressing deep emotions with poetry and reverence. Herica’s musical talents shone from an early age when she won a Robert Burns Singing Competition aged 14. Her creative talents continued to shine when she won the Student of the Year award for Art and Design aged 17. At University, she studied Creative Music Technology, graduating with First Class Honours and winning the Best Project Prize for her research project and book ‘How To Make A Living In The Music Industry’. She also achieved Grade 8 Singing for Musical Theatre. An experienced Recording Engineer, she was lead engineer for the acclaimed debut album ‘Testament’ by The Gravity Drive. Her debut self-released album, Sentences You Never Said, is out now and is gaining fans. After a number of successful live online sessions in 2023, she is planning to release new material in 2024. She is currently writing songs for her second album. Herica makes music because she must; it is in her soul, her DNA. She is a mother-of-two, a wife and an independent musician. She believes in living a purposeful life and respecting all life. She believes in the power of good, the power of positivity, the power of truth. Through her music she hopes to enrich people’s lives and encourage positive expression.
